To My Patients,

In light of the recent news regarding ALCL (the rare form of tumor linked to textured breast implants) and of the Allergan implant recall, I would like to assure you that I have never used textured implants of any manufacturer for cosmetic breast surgery in my practice.

I have been closely following the situation with ALCL for the last several years on behalf of my patients. This is a very concerning finding that has been closely studied over the last year. It is confirmed to only be linked to textured implants. Fortunately, I have never been a fan of textured implants for various reasons and therefore never used them in my aesthetic private practice.

While I have intermittently used Allergan implants, they have always been the smooth variety. I have most commonly used Mentor® or Sientra® implants in my practice and they have all always been smooth and round, never textured or shaped. The natural breast shape post-operatively results from implant placement, pocket, and gravity.

If you would like further information on the implants that were used for your surgery, you are welcome to contact the office at 858-453-3133. But again, I assure you that I have never used textured implants for cosmetic breast surgery in my private practice.

Sincerely,

Dr. Scott Miller
